Raymond Masterson Mechanical Services Ltd are currently recruiting a candidate for a Metal Fabrication Apprenticeship  in conjunction with SOLAS.
This is a structured 4 year program including both practical assessments with Raymond Masterson Mechanical Services Ltd and classroom based learning with SOLAS . You will need to commit to 4 years of intense study and in-depth practical work . Upon successful completion of this apprenticeship program, you will qualify as

Metal Fabricator

 

What is a metal fabricator?
A metal Fabricators work involves the installation and manufacture of a range of metallic systems to include pressure valves, tank and boiler manufacture , structural steel systems, plate steel systems and piping systems. Metal Fabricators can shape steel components with the aid of thermal cutting equipment. Thermal processes such as MMA welding, TIG/TAG welding, MIG/MAG welding and oxy acetylene welding and brazing are skills used by the metal fabricator.

Metal Fabricators require many skills including:
• Working with a variety of specialized hand and power tools
• Knowledge of a range of metal fabrication processes
• Preforming a range of welding processes
• Interpreting a technical drawings and specifications
• Measuring, marking out, cutting and welding mild steel, stainless steel, alloy steels and aluminum plate and pipe
• Installation of structural steel systems

The Metal Fabricator must have the ability to:
• Plan and Organise
• Communicate effectively

• Have a positive attitude
• Recognise the need for good customer relations
• Demonstrate good work practices

Entry Requirements
• Minimum Age requirement 16 years of age
and
• Educational requirements: Attended Leaving Certificate Examination
